Improving Myself with Heart and Humor
Hi and welcome to PIM (short for Project: Improve Me!)

I’ve shared some fun (and maybe slightly weird) tidbits about my life below. I wanted to let readers know up-front—I’m a bit quirky, and my life has been quite the ride so far. I know I’m not the only one with baggage and weird interests, but I’ve learned that the best way to make real connections is to find things in common. Even if it’s just one thing, it’s a start!
I won’t bore you with too many details (gotta save some stories for later), but if you ever have questions or just want to say hi—send me an email!
Me, My Family, and Our Location
I’m Kari, originally from Ohio, but I made the move to Georgia when I turned 30. My son and I came first, then my mom joined us, and now our family has doubled! I’ve gained a daughter-in-law, a grandson, and most recently, a granddaughter. Also, between us, we have seven pets—yes, seven (2 cats and 5 dogs).
My Quiet Life
I’ve been called a nerd most of my life, and honestly? I’m okay with that. I love reading and learning, and I’ve been obsessed with picking up new skills for as long as I can remember. Academically, I have two master’s degrees (Accounting and Data Science). I work in accounting, and while I do well financially, I’m still paying off massive student loans.
I work from home, which is a dream come true because I absolutely hate commuting. I’ve had plenty of customer-facing jobs and did just fine—but deep down, I’m an introvert who genuinely enjoys my own company.
My Reasons for Starting This Now
I don’t have every detail figured out yet, but after years of thinking about it, I’m finally making this blog happen. I’m going to be 50 years old in 2025 – so what am I waiting for???
This blog is my personal Project: Improve Me!—because even at (almost) 50, there’s so much I want to learn, experience, and grow into.
It keeps me accountable. I hate failing – so if I tell you I’m going to do something, I will make sure I do it [eventually].
It lets me help people. I love sharing knowledge, whether it’s personal finance, budgeting, Etsy, Excel, or just listening and giving advice when needed.
It gives me a place to share my humor again. Once upon a time, I was known for my smart mouth and quick wit. These days, I spend my time buried in spreadsheets, so the world is really missing out. 😆
It may even push me toward YouTube. I’d love to start a channel for chats and tutorials—who knows, maybe one day, YouTube will send me some ad money to finally help with these student loans!
If you made it this far—thank you! That means we already have something in common: a love for stories and connection.
Now, let’s do this—sign up for my Project: Improve Me! newsletter (look for the pink button on any page), send me a message, and let’s grow a beautiful friendship. 💕

Email or message me on social media if you want to discuss and similarities we have!
