Improving Myself with Heart and Humor

Hi, I’m Kari – founder of Project: Improve Me!™

Life didn’t exactly go by the book for me. I became a mom at 17, worked hard, went back to school, earned my degrees, and raised a good human — all without Google, YouTube, or a safety net. Now I’m a proud grandma, an accountant by day, and a dream builder by night.

I started Project: Improve Me (aka PIM) because I needed it.
I was carrying too much — too many digital messes, too many financial to-dos, and too many stories I never made time to write down.

Like a lot of Gen X women, I’m part of the sandwich generation — helping out my grown kid, loving my grandkids, and making sure my mom is surviving in retirement too.

I want to clean up what I can while I’m still able. Not just for me — but for them.

This site isn’t about perfect systems or a new routine every Monday. It’s about making room for the things that matter — even if that means starting with one folder, one budget, or one memory at a time.

What You’ll Find Here:

Project: Improve Me is built around the PIM Life Map™ — a simple, flexible guide designed to help women move forward in ways that feel real and doable.

You can start anywhere — there’s no wrong place. The Life Map includes:

🔁 Reset – Clear Your Digital Life
Declutter your digital chaos and reclaim your mental space with the ClearMind Digital System™.

💰 Rebuild – Get Smart With Your Money
Take charge of your finances and future with the Solo Money™ tools — no fluff, no shame, just real support for real women.

🪞 Reflect – Preserve What Matters
Start saving your stories, planning your legacy, and leaving something meaningful behind with Pen Your Past™.

🎧 Want to hear the real story?

I recently shared why I started Project: Improve Me — and what it’s really like to rebuild your digital, financial, and personal life as a midlife woman.

Who I’m Here For:

You might be single. You might be married. You might be in a second act — or not sure what act you’re in.

What matters is this: You’re ready to stop surviving and start improving.

This space is for you if you:

✅ Want to feel more in control without feeling like a tech expert
✅ Are tired of feeling like it’s too late to change or do something meaningful
✅ Crave breathing room — not more pressure or perfection
✅ Want to leave something meaningful behind — even if your story is messy

What I Believe:

You don’t have to be more motivated, more organized, or more “together.”
You don’t have to be perfect to move forward.
You just need a place to begin.
Small steps count.
And midlife isn’t a crisis — it’s a checkpoint.

This isn’t a health site. It’s not a productivity blog. It’s something in between — because real life doesn’t stay in tidy boxes.

Sometimes I’ll talk about money.
Sometimes I’ll share a win from the ClearMind Digital Declutter Challenge.
Sometimes I’ll post a blog about learning something the hard way.

If it helps you pause, simplify, or reflect — it belongs here.

You don’t need a plan for everything.
You just need to start somewhere.

🐢 Meet Tilly

I’ve recently added Tilly the Turtle, a custom chatbot designed to help you find answers and ideas on budgeting, digital organizing, Pinterest, and other topics we talk about here. She’s still learning, so if she says something weird — let me know!

🌱 Be Part of the PIM Community

At the end of every blog post, I ask a PIM Community Question.

Feel free to comment or reply — I’d love to hear what you’re thinking or walking through.

This isn’t just a blog. It’s a growing circle of thoughtful women doing what they can, when they can.

With Lots of Love & Laughter – Kari 💚
